what more could you ask for?Jan 07, 2010
By Daniel Grey this thing is without a doubt the best tripod for the iphone. the case that comes with it is perfect. it's not something you would use as a permanent replacement for your current case, though you could. it sort of clips on to the iphones edges. holds it very securely in place, i wouldn't worry about the iphone coming loose and falling out. (as long as you're not throwing baseballs at it.) the other reviewer talks about missing pieces, however when mine came it had all the pieces that it mentioned, so there was no concern there. it's very flexible, which allows you to put it almost anywhere. i just propped it up on top of a door to make a time lapse movie of me installing my new 'bragada' mattress, which also just came today. all in all i'd say i'm pretty pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a tripod for their iphone. the additional adapters will come in handy as well (nintendo ds/sony psp/any small camera or camcorder/flashlight, etc...)

For IpoD Touch 4Gen Users: InfoDec 15, 2010

Couple of specific points about this Joby that some of you might be considering:
It will not fit my iPod Touch 4th Gen *(which is smaller than a 3rd Gen) without the rubber cover. I use a rubber silicone style cover on my iPod Touch 4Gen, and the entire thing fits nicely, no squeezing it in, to the Joby. This is great, because I don't have to take it out of the cover. I can put it in and connect the white Apple sync cable to the bottom manually for charging and syncing. When I'm done, I just pop the Ipod Touch 4Gen out, rubber case and all, and leave the Joby legs and holder case up and ready by my computer. My rubber cover/case is by Splash. Note that a thicker case, or a folding wallet or book style case, will need to be removed for an Ipod Touch 4th Gen, and also note that the device itself uncovered will be loose in the stand. It will fall out if you tip the stand (but not if in the Splash case).
I can see that this is a fine device, but I am unclear if the pivoting head at the top of the tripod will last with continued use... it is constructed of plastic. Time will dictate.
Finally, I am pleased to tell you that the Joby includes an adapter for a point and shoot camera--the standard screw that goes into the bottom of your camera. So, no need to fret, you can actually use this as a tripod also. Double purpose!
A winner. Much better than the Konnet charging cradle I own, which although aluminum, is not as versatile, and the iPod slips in it.

120% satisfaction! A very nicely engineered package.Jan 16, 2010

The iPhone case in the kit has an integrated clip for quick attachment/detachment with the Gorillapod. The case itself is a fairly thin shell with a rubberized finish, and can serve well as a permanent iPhone case.
The additional clips (one to screw into a camera's tripod socket, and two with adhesive for universal use) are an added bonus. The Gorrillapod itself is small and light, so observe the manufacturer's weight limits and verify that the setup is balanced and stable before leaving it to stand on its own.
I bought it primarily for holding my iPhone 3GS in a proper orientation for shooting time-lapse videos with an app called "ReelMoments", and it fits the bill.

Good, but not greatNov 13, 2010
By T. Jefferson I'm somewhat satisfied with this tripod, but after a while the joints became so loose that the legs provide little gripping power. I use rubber bands to supplement the joints. So, I still use it, but I would say that is isn't working properly any more. I never abused it, it simply wore out after a few months.
If anyone knows how to put the "grip" back in the joints I would like to hear about it.

Stable and versatile tripod for iPhones and camerasMay 20, 2011
By Tom I received my Gorillamobile Flexible Tripod yesterday, and already I really like this product. It's infinitely positionable, and has a great stiff grip on whatever I want. It's like my iPhone has an opposable hand. I'm finding lots of ways to make my phone usage easier with the tripod. So far in the few hours since I received it I've attached it to my bedframe so I could watch a video before I fell asleep and have my alarm closer to me in the morning, hung it from my handlebars so I could GPS my bike commute to work, used it to steady my camera for skype video sessions, optimally position my phone for some game playing, and keep my phone centralized and elevated for a conference call. It really does enable you to position your phone any way you like.
And the device came with a nice partial case for my iPhone. Though it's not the most hardy case out there, it's not too bulky and not too flimsy, both of which are complaints I had with former cases. It's sleek black matte plastic that doesn't slide around easily, which is good.
And the package had attachment clips for other devices, two adhesive clips to be stuck to whatever, and one clip that would screw into the tripod port of any photo or video camera.
I know there were some reviews saying the device is flimsy and poorly made, but to me the articulations and materials all feel crisp and not prone to wear, so I'm really pleased with the device so far. And for such a great price, I highly recommend this!
